What Is the I-129F Petition?
The Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), is the first step in bringing your foreign fiancé(e) to the United States on a K-1 visa. It is filed by the U.S. citizen petitioner with USCIS and, once approved, allows your partner to apply for a K-1 visa at the U.S. consulate in their home country.
After entering the U.S. on a K-1 visa, your fiancé(e) has 90 days to marry you. Following the marriage, they can apply for Adjustment of Status to become a lawful permanent resident.
The petition itself asks for detailed information about both partners — citizenship, prior marriages, criminal history, relationship history, and evidence of having met in person within the last two years. EasyBorder guides you through every part of it.
